Trails on a track in a trip

It’s easy if you say it slow, honest. As you know from the About page, on Live in Days, the term “trip” is used for the all encompassing experience of walking a multi-day hike, or travelling to stay somewhere at least overnight to complete one or more hikes. A trip is about whether we needed to organise details in advance, instead of just heading off for a day hike, and we liked how the words Trips and Trails worked together.

Anyways, undertaking a trip entails comprehensive planning and preparation compared to a day hike, for example, details such as accommodation, transport, food and the specific hiking requirements must all be figured out in advance.

When researching the practicalities during the trip planning, it can be overwhelming to say the least. This is why we have provided the information on how we manged our trip, in the hope others may gain something from the overview.

Each individual stage of the track is detailed on the trip overview page and can also be found via the Trails page. Note the ability to filter the trail results by the track. At this stage we only have the Cape to Cape Track and the Whadjuk Trail Network.

Though the Whadjuk trails comprise an actual track, individually, they are discrete urban trails, and as we didn’t complete them in a condensed timeframe, there was no need for for extra planning or preparation. Hence, they’re a Track, but not a Trip on Live in Days.
